Geodis appoints new Director of the Groupage Division

Bruno Mandrin has been appointed Director of Geodis Calberson, the Groupage and Express Division of the Geodis Group. In 1994, he joined Geodis Calberson in Sales Management. Since May 2009 he has been Deputy Director for the Geodis Groupage Division.
Bruno Mandrin will rely on the direct collaboration of Gilles Décher, appointed Deputy Director of the Division and in charge of coordinating French regions.
Agility Announces Changes to CEO Position for Asia Pacific

Agility has announced the appointment of Hans Hickler as CEO, Asia Pacific Region, with effect from March 2, 2010. At the same time, Wolfgang Hollermann, who was previously CEO, Asia Pacific Region, will transition to a new role as Advisor to the Global Integrated Logistics (GIL) President and CEO, Essa Al-Saleh.
Hickler joins Agility from DHL, where he most recently was CEO for Global Customer Solutions, based in the United States. He was responsible for leading the development and sale of customer solutions for all DHL business units including DHL Supply Chain, Warehousing & Distribution, Forwarding and Express products. Previously, Hans served as CEO of DHL Express USA. Earlier in his career he was CEO of APL Logistics. He will be based in Hong Kong.
"I am delighted to be joining Agility at such an exciting time in the company's development in Asia. I am also looking forward to working with Wolfgang Hollermann during the transition, over the last two decades he has presided over Agility's rise into one of the leading logistics players in the region," said Hickler.

Menlo Worldwide appoints Managing Director for North Asia

Menlo has named veteran industry leader Gary So to the position of Managing Director, North Asia, responsible for mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. "We are focusing on building up Menlo's transportation network in China, building on our team of local experts, and introducing Menlo's warehousing and transportation solutions to a broader range of industries," says Hong Kong native So.
An industry professional with more than 23 years of experience in Asia, So is well positioned to lead Menlo as it develops locally-designed solutions for the China market. So's experience includes serving as director of China start-up operations for Kerry Logistics, as a business development executive with NYK Logistics and a business process improvement consultant with LLA Pacific (now merged with PricewaterhouseCoopers). His earliest positions were with Lufthansa German Airlines and TNT Logistics, where he focused on risk management, network management and strategic business development.

Craig Seelig Joins CargoWise as Product Manager Customs and Government Compliance - Americas

CargoWise, a technology supplier for logistics service providers, has tapped Craig Seelig as Product Manager for Customs and Government Compliance in the Americas. In this new role Mr. Seelig is responsible for all customs brokerage and compliance products for the North American market.
Seelig has more than 20 years of combined experience in the customs and freight forwarding software industries. Prior to joining CargoWise, he was Vice President Information Systems, Americas, for Barthco/OHL and had a particular focus on customs system. He previously worked with Theta Systems/Freightek, a U.S.-based software provider for customs and freight forwarding applications.
Richard White, CEO of CargoWise, in making the announcement, said: "Craig's vast experience speaks for itself, and will add a great new dimension to our customs and compliance operation in North America. We are very pleased to have him join CargoWise and look forward to the hands-on approach he will bring to further enhance our brokerage product for our customers in North America."

DB Schenker Rail appoints Otto Niederhofer head of Region Central Production Companies

The Supervisory Board of DB Schenker Rail Deutschland AG has appointed Otto G. Niederhofer to the Management Board with effect from March 1, 2010. Niederhofer will assume responsibility for the newly created "Region Central Production Companies" division and will therefore be in charge of all the production companies which are allocated to Region Central.
The production companies concerned are DB Schenker Rail Nederland, DB Schenker Rail Scandinavia, Nord Cargo (Italy), RBH Logistics, MEG (both Germany) and DB Schenker Rail Schweiz, as well as Cobra (Belgium) and BLS Cargo (Switzerland), companies in which DB Schenker Rail holds a stake.
To date, Niederhofer has been head of Asset Management at DB Schenker Rail.

Damco strengthens airfreight solutions with the hire of new Head of Airfreight.

Damco has appointed Remo Eigenmann as the new Head of Airfreight. Eigenmann is a Swiss national and has previously been engaged by ABB, Swissair and AT Kearney. In addition to this he worked for 6 years with Panalpina where he held several key positions including the Head of Panalpina's global airfreight organisation.
"As Damco, we have industry strength in our supply chain management and ocean freight offering and delivery, but felt we could further strengthen our airfreight offering to complete our offering to our customers. We have seen an increase in the need for competitive airfreight solutions to our customers and clearly seen a market gap and a possibility to further grow that segment" says Martin Thaysen, Chief Commercial Officer at Damco.

Philippe Gilbert Appointed Executive Vice President Of Geodis Wilson

Philippe Gilbert has been appointed Executive Vice President of Geodis Wilson. Peter Nevhagen who spearheaded the division together with Philippe Gilbert during the transition period will remain a member of the Board, appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Geodis Wilson.
Jean-Louis Demeulenaere, Deputy CEO of Geodis Group commented, "I am delighted that both, Philippe and Peter accepted their new responsibilities. During the recent phase following the merger of the networks, a co-headed management system was entirely legitimate. Now, in the context of strong future growth ambitions of Geodis Wilson and Geodis Group it is necessary to revert to a classical management structure."

DHL Express appoints new General Manager for Qatar

DHL has appointed Daniel Kearvell as the new General Manager of DHL Express Qatar. In his new role, Kearvell will oversee the strategic development of DHL Express' operations in Qatar, a key performing market for DHL in the Middle East region.
Daniel Kearvell said, "The Gulf countries have been a driver of growth in recent years for DHL Express Middle East, North Africa and Turkey, with Qatar at the forefront due to the excellent connectivity to our extensive global network. While we recognize that the current economic environment has its challenges, there are still plenty of growth opportunities for businesses in Qatar."

Prior to his current appointment, Kearvell worked in a management position in DHL Emerging Markets Finance Department, based in Brussels and Dubai respectively. He spent seven years in Russia, living in both Moscow and St Petersburg, where he was leading the business in the position of Area Manager for West Russia. In this position, Kearvell drove business performance to achieve 40% growth in 3 consecutive years, while overseeing DHL St Petersburg's relocation to a state-of-the-art terminal in the city. Prior to joining DHL, Kearvell was in employment with the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce, in their London, Moscow and St Petersburg offices. He founded the Chamber's St Petersburg office in 2004, subsequently ensuring its position as the leading Chamber of Commerce in West Russia.
Con-way Multimodal appoints senior account executive

Con-way Multimodal, the freight brokerage division of Menlo Worldwide Logistics, today announced that John G. Wees of Dallas has joined the organization in the newly created position of senior account executive. In that role, he will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer and third-party carrier relationships and request for proposal (RFP) responses.
"John Wees brings us a wide variety of the skills and capabilities that will be crucial to executing our strategy to grow the business in 2010," said Tyler Ellison, president, Con-way Multimodal. "I'm confident that John will be successful in expanding our customer base through a combination of strategic lead generation, development of unique transportation solutions and superior customer service."
Wees joins Con-way Multimodal from a position as operations/sales manager at ARPCO Transport Services in Grapevine, Texas. Prior to that, he served as logistics account manager at Bear Transportation Services in Plano, Texas.
Pacer appoints Regional Vice President, Sales-West for its Transportation Solutions Unit

Pacer International, Inc., a North American freight transportation and logistics provider, announced the appointment of Mark T. Coleman as Regional Vice President, Sales-West, for its Pacer Transportation Solutions, Inc. unit. Prior to joining Pacer, Coleman worked with Schneider National where he most recently held the position of Vice President -- Intermodal Sales West.
"Mark is a leader who knows how to create new value for customers. Pacer will leverage his extensive intermodal and trucking expertise to advance our expanding service offerings with Western Region customers," said Adriene Bailey, Chief Commercial Officer for Pacer International.
Coleman brings more than 25 years of commercial and operational management experience in the logistics industry. He has also held Vice President level positions in sales and strategic client solutions in the Midwest and Southwest, providing him with a larger network-solutions viewpoint that clients value.
