IN tIME maintains double-digit growth
IN tIME Express Logistik continued to expand sales and transport volumes in 2011 as revenues rose by 10% year on year to ā¬115.8m, while the number of consignments went up by 10.5% to 410,000.
The company said the growth, especially in the first half of the year, was driven by the increased premium freight requirements of core clients in the automobile/OEM and tier supplier sectors. Both managers and shareholders of IN tIME consider last year's performance as very satisfactory. "2011 was a good year overall. Most importantly, we managed to serve our clients' spiralling freight requirements in spite of capacity shortages in road transport and we also achieved further market share gains," commented IN tIME Managing Director Gerd Rƶttger.
The company stated that one of the biggest challenges last year was the surge in fuel costs and consequent pressure on gross margins, with average diesel prices up 15% on 2010 levels. To offset these costs the company adjusted its prices and introduced fuel index clauses. "We found that most customers were understanding because they had seen performance levels deteriorate more and more in cases where service providers carried on offering lowest price levels," said Rƶttger. The company outlined that its strategic focus would be placed upon the expansion of its serviceĀ offeringsĀ in 2012.
